Keeping in the mind the people of the rural and financial handicapped area surrounding Panskura, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal had a long cherished desire to have CBSE school to get their children educated in an English Medium, all curriculum based institution which can not only open to their wards different avenues of employment, but also help them to have their outlook broad, liberal and enlightened. This desire was fulfilled by a farsighted, benevolent, tenacious educationist, social worker and having with other professions Dr. Saumen Kumar Mapatra, Ph.D(Kol), FRES(U.K.),Bharat Jyoti and Bratratan along with our Manager, Dr. Nathuni Singh, former Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, an eminent educationist with a strong Managing Committee having principals of Kendriya Vidyalaya and other educationists and social workers brought this institution into existence in 1999. The school is named after a great monk-Swami Vivekananda whose ideal concept of education is man making and character building.
It first stands with a few students and devoted teachers. But real progress and development comes when it gets affiliation. Now it is four storyed building and another separate building fully equipped with infrastructure, big size play ground, separate basketball court, laboratories, library, kids zone and 54 dedicated teachers and some other staff members. The strength of the students is gradually increasing development of mind and intellect of its students and has been playing a key role for bringing all-round development of the society.
Not only in the academic field, but also in co-curricular activities and swimming and athletics our students have brought laurels to the Vidyalaya many a time.
For other than the Board classes, right from class PP high academic standards are maintained through extra ordinary efforts like curriculum enrichment programme, activity òriented teaching, use of Audio — Visual equipment’s, Multimedia package, smart classes and self learning strategies.
Students are assessed continuously comprehensively through assignment, projects, CCE pattern examination. Their performance is reported periodically to the parents.
Special coaching classes are held during the breaks. PTA meeting are held along with the subject teachers so that parents could be involved in teaching — learning procedure and
guidance was given to them for the overall improvements of the students.
